MEET
SARAH

I remember sitting in my second grade classroom writing my heart out and finding complete joy in the written word. I still have many of my writing pieces from my elementary days. Deep within was the desire to write a children's book one day, I just needed a story worth telling. In the winter of 2015, my mini dachshund, Sadie Mae became paralyzed at six years old.  From an awful experience something beautiful emerged and this is the story that remains.

Well hello there...

Sarah is an elementary special education teacher in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains of New York State.  She is thankful for her students who are a daily inspiration to her.

Sadie Mae's Constant Song
THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY

For no known reason, Sadie Mae became paralyzed on New Year's Eve 2015.  Mini dachshunds are prone to Intervertebral Disk Disease, often known as IVDD.  In short, it is a slipped disk in the back, which can cause a dog to become disabled.  This is the best explanation we have for her condition.  Sadie was on bed rest for about six weeks, completed eight rounds of pet acupuncture and with a lot of patience learned how to walk again.  This book tells her story and encourages readers to persevere through hardship, endure through unknown circumstances and to always find joy, even through the rain.
